Yass Golf Club - Sunday 11th February 2024
An excellent day at Yass. The course was in very good condition, and we were very well looked after by the Yass staff. It is the intention to hold an event at Yass annually.

Barry Huckstepp Memorial Event
The very popular Barry Huckstepp Memorial LH and RH Event was held at Queanbeyan GC on Friday December 1st. Traditionally the event has always been held at Yowani, but due to course renovations this was not possible in 2023. However, a very good field of thirty-four players braved wind and rain to ensure a very successful event.

For the first time in many years, we held an event at the 9-hole RMC Golf Club. Proved to be a very good venue, good course, followed by a BBQ and good social time. We will certainly be going back.

Excellent day at Fairbairn on 17th September, including an after-golf BBQ. As you will see below the LH winner on the day was new member, Robert Thompson. Remarkably, Robert is 8 years old. Maybe this is a record of the youngest player to ever win an open event! Well done Robert - look forward to you playing in our future events.

ACT and NSW 2023 Event
The Annual ACT and NSW weekend of golf was held at Gold Creek Golf Club on March 5th and 6th. The course was in outstanding condition and all players, especially those from NSW, enjoyed typical Canberra early autumn weather.
Twenty-four players teed off on the Saturday, and thirty-six on the Sunday. A very enjoyable dinner was held on the Saturday evening at Trevino's at Gold Creek.
Saturday was the popular Jacket and Shawl Event awarded to the best individual LH and RH stableford scorers. The Green Jacket goes to the best Left Hander, and the Shawl to the best Right Hander. A 2 ball best ball was held in conjunction with the individual event.

Sunday was the team event between NSW and ACT. The Ossie Ratford Shield is awarded to the team with the lowest average individual Stableford score. This Event was first held in 1994 at the Goulburn Golf Club. NSW up to 2022 had won 18 times, and ACT 10 times.
NSW were the winners in 2023 for the 19th time with an average score of 30.10. ACT average score was 27.93.
